  • 4 passport pictures.
  • Your Consular Card. If you are not yet registered with this Consulate General, please refer to Consular registration icon within this website to do so.
  • Original and Copy of your passport (keep copies of all visas you might need).
  • Copy of Your National Identity Card (Carte d'Identite Nationale).
  • Copy of your National Identity Card (Carte d'Identité Nationale).
  • A copy of your residence permit, Green Card, or any equivalent.
  • Employment verification from your employer or proof of self employment.
  • Please download the attached "Passport Form", fill it out in capital letters, print 2 copies and attach 1 passport size recent photo to each (please write your full name on the back of the pictures).

  • If you do not have a Green Card or a US passport, you must send the original I-94 (which is the form completed at the time of entry to the United States by foreign citizens that are being admitted into the country in a non-immigrant visa status, and is stapled to the passport). Please note that it will be sent back to you but your passport can not be extended or renewed without it. If your I-94 has been submitted to the Immigration Services, please send a copy of the receipt or appointment.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

It is highly recommended that parents arrange for requesting a C.N.I.E (Carte Nationale d'Identité Eléctronique) for their child who is 16 years or older, to avoid future delays in getting a passport for him or her (Please refer to the C.N.I.E icon on this website for further instructions).

IMPORTANT NOTICES:
  • PERSONAL CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED as a form of payment.
  • The processing time for passport renewal & extension is 10 business days. The period may be shorter or longer, depending on the load of work. In case you do not receive your passport within 10 business days, you may call this Consulate General at: 212-758-2625, extension 313 or 305.
  • If your passport has not been extended already, please specify whether you prefer an EXTENSION (to keep the same passport), or a RENEWAL (to obtain a new passport). Make sure you keep a copy of your expired passport. For safety reasons, it is mandatory that you use express mail and keep your tracking numbers. It will, later on, enable you to check http://www.usps.com to track the prepaid Express Mail envelope containing your passport.

  • Fees for returning your passport are not included in the fees above. To ensure the reception of your passport, please include a prepaid express mail envelope (that you may purchase from any post office). Please note that this is the only mailing method accepted.

ADDITIONAL NOTICES:
  • A passport is an official and strictly individual travel document. It is the property of the government and can be used only by its holder. It can be sent via the post office only in exceptional cases, and being an immigrant residing in the USA is one of them.
  • The possession of the C.N.I.E. (Carte Nationale d'Identité Eléctronique) is a precondition to issue a passport to a Moroccan national who is eighteen (18) years or older.
  • A newly issued passport has a validity of five (5) years. Upon expiration, the passport is extended for another five (5) years, which takes effect from the exact expiration date. A new passport must be issued after a period of ten (10) years of use.
  • A passport can be extended or renewed 18 months prior to its expiration date.
  • An EXTENSION means that the validity of the previously issued passport is extended.
  • A RENEWAL means the replacement of the expired passport, cancelled for one of the following reasons:
    1. the document is no longer valid,
    2. there are no blank pages left on the passport,
    3. there are duly justified changes in the registry office data,
    4. there are significant physical changes affecting the holder's face (following a disease, accident or surgical operation),
    5. or in the event of deterioration, loss or duly justified robbery.
