Procuration/Power of Attorney

  • A "Procuration" Power of Attorney is meant to save the trip to Moroccan Nationals living in the US to go to Morocco to take care of their personal matters.
  • They can give Procuration to somebody to represent them. This document has to be notarized by the Consulate General in order to be valid in Morocco.
  • Applicants have to appear in person and sign the document before a clerk at the Consulate after showing their Moroccan ID or passport.
  • For people living outside the New York area: They can notarize it before a Public Notary and send it to the Consulate General along with a notarized copy of the National ID or passport.
  • Please download the “Procuration” and save it to your Microsoft word so you can fill it up and then sign it before a public notary.
  • Fees:
  • Marriage:$17
  • Divorce $31
  • Commercial $39 (Companies, State department & investment).
  • General $22 ( To buy or sell,heritage setlment and a general power of attorney to act and sign on your behalf)
  • Regular $10 (To open a bank account, Ceritficate of lodging, To retreive a document or a diploma or any document on your behalf, to take care of any adminstrative procedure concerning your house like elctricity and water).
  • Fees for returning your mail are not included in the fees above. To ensure the reception of your document, please include a prepaid express mail envelope obtained from the post office. Please note that this is the only mailing method accepted. Thank you.

    • The power of attorney time process is 5 business days. The period may be shorter or longer depending on the amount of files received. Please call us only if you do not receive your papers within 5 business days at: 212-758-2625.
    • All Moroccans living in the US should register with the Consulate prior to any transaction. ( Pease refer to registration on this Site).
